February has been a month of ‘signs’. So many people have expressed a kind of superstition - “that’s such good timing” - or even remarked when parcels seem to arrive out of nowhere, with serendipitous timing.
I took this in good standing, mostly. If you asked me how to sum up this month, I feel like this photograph really said it all - sucker that I am for quotes. This was taken at Angel station, in the run up to Valentines Day.
For this ‘favourites’ email, I have written two mini vignettes - one on uncovering medical misogyny, as well as a response to an Instagram ‘trend’ while sitting outside the social media bubble. (It’s been a month without Instagram - because hurray for work being lifted from your social page! By a newspaper, no less! Without any permission or heads up! *Sighs*.) There’s also the usual reading list of resources and other writing for anti-ableism pieces, as well as the ‘Currently I Am'..’ list..
As a reminder: I will be conducting a seminar at Naidex next month, all to do with self-employment and how to get started. (I’ll also work out a way to conduct this seminar on here live in April, too. Paywall subscribers will get free access, and I’ll find a way for ‘one off tickets’ to be purchased, too.)
You can get your ticket here, and the talk itself is free to attend at Birmingham’s NEC:
See you next month!
